Let me proceed slowly.
Long ago, this country was covered in deep forests, where ancient gods lived.
Princess Mononoke
“Ashitaka”
“Everyone, return to the village.”
The elder said, “There’s something strange about the mountain.”
“The birds are gone, and so are the animals.”
“I see. Let’s go see the elder. Everyone else, hurry back.”
“Something is coming.”
“Elder. What is it?” ”I don’t know. It’s not human.”
“Here it comes.”
Boom!!
Ghibli drew this cursed god by hand. The director said after the film was completed that it took a year and seven months to draw the 2 minute 10 second scene. Normally, they would change it midway. I also thought it was a pain to draw it.
Guwasha!!Guwasha!!
“The cursed god!” “The cursed god?”
Buowoo!!
There was originally a proposal to title Princess Mononoke “The Tale of Ashitaka,” so Ashitaka is the main character. If you watch the film, you’ll probably get that impression. But it seems the producers decided on Princess Mononoke on their own. Commercially, I think that’s the right choice. “The Tale of Ashitaka” is a bit…
I will omit a great deal. Monsters are not fun to draw.
“Quiet your rage,I beg you! O forest god who cannot be without name, why do you rampage so?”
“Stop! Leave our village in peace!
Whizz!!
Thanks to Ghibli and Director Miyazaki.
